“Time is of the essence.” For you business owners, I’m sure this maxim couldn’t ring more true.
As social media managers, we hear and understand many reasons why businesses can’t successfully maintain their brand’s digital presence - from lack of time, to no knowledge or creativity of what content to post - trust us, we get it.
Social media is a multifaceted field of possibilities and opportunities, but if these aren’t chosen and harnessed effectively, your social media presence will slowly fade. So, what can you do to optimise your chances of growing your brand online, while saving you time to focus more on what you love and do best?
We’ve compiled 3 forward-thinking strategies to help you do just that!

#1 Know your audience and social media goals.
Who are your current clients? & Who are your dream clients? In EVERYTHING you do on social media (& in every marketing campaign in fact), keep this audience in mind. Knowledge of your audience, where they are interacting, and the content they are most engaging with will determine the type of content you post, and where you are posting it - saving you time worrying about whether you're posting quality content and if you're spending too much time on certain networks and not enough on others.
Whether you would like to achieve an increase in followers or page likes, a stronger digital brand presence, or an increase in website traffic, your social media goals should be the driving forces behind every decision you make on social media. Like your audience, your goals will determine the type of content you are posting and the call to actions behind them.
#2 Think & plan ahead.
This may sound pretty straight forward, but trust us, this is your biggest time (and brain-power-) -saving tip! Instead of spending each day worrying about what to post, we recommend either designating time at the start or end of each month planning the content for the month ahead. This could either be spending 30-60 minutes coming up with content ideas, or this could be spending a couple of hours putting your entire content calendar together. Planning your content will ultimately save you unnecessary stress and time throughout the month as it’s all sorted. Of course, if you are planning your month’s content ahead, leave room for spontaneity. Allow room for timely trending posts you would like to get on board of as well as important social and cultural movements your business should get behind. You should also still spend each day responding and engaging with your audience, so as to humanise your brand and increase follower engagement!
#3 Schedule your planned content.
If you have opted to create a planned content calendar, to save you even more time, we recommend investing in a scheduling tool! This will not only allow you to schedule all your planned content for the month/s ahead, but will also generate an insight report for you to see how your content is tracking, what time of day is proving most effective to post, and engagement numbers. Sked Social is amazing for this!
